Budgeting is a household budgeting app operated by Maxx Helfer ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it's shared with, and how you can have it deleted.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, card numbers, your bank credentials, or government ID numbers, and we do not use trackers or analytics SDKs that follow you across other apps or websites.
Solely to provide the app's own functionality: showing your linked accounts and balances, categorizing and displaying your transactions, and tracking budgets you set against them. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
| Who | Why | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Plaid | Connecting your bank account and retrieving transactions/balances | Requests scoped to Plaid's own API, using a token โ never your bank credentials |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple; app distribution | Your Apple identity token during sign-in; the app binary via the App Store/TestFlight |
| Cloudflare | Hosting our backend and database | All data described above, as our infrastructure provider |
Plaid's own privacy policy, linked above, governs how Plaid itself handles data once it's shared with us. We don't share your data with anyone else, and we don't sell it.
Financial account data is encrypted at rest, and all traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Details of the specific controls in place are documented in our Information Security Policy, available on request.
Budgeting is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
If how we collect, use, or share data changes materially, we'll update this policy and change the "Last reviewed" date above. This policy is reviewed at least once a year regardless of whether anything changed.
